| Ella Lancaster originally trained as an architect and set designer. The rigour of the architectural approach has informed Ella Lancaster photography. Ella Lancaster work can be highly manipulated and taking the photograph is just one of many stages in creating the final picture that result in a visual quality more ‘screen print’ than ‘photographic’. Ella Lancaster New York work was shown at ‘Impact’ with Magnum and Annie Liebovitz at the Old Saatchi Gallery in September 2002. The Centrepoint series was shown at the Proud (Central) Gallery in February 2004.
